Spiritual Warfare! How to Arm Yourself for the Spiritual Battle of a Lifetime

What is Spiritual Warfare?

Simply stated, spiritual warfare is a recognition that the forces of the dark are in a spiritual battle with the power of the light. It is a deeper understanding that all that is good is in a spiritual conflict with that which is not.

Where Is The Spiritual Battle Taking Place?

While some believe that spiritual warfare is a battle that is taking place in the worldly realm, the truth is…

The spiritual battle is taking place within your mind and the spiritual world.

However, anytime you start to worry, remind yourself of God’s promises. Feed your faith and know that the challenges in your life didn’t come to stay, they came to pass!

For instance, in scripture we are told…

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33

Of course, knowing that we can find peace in the Spirit of God within us, isn’t enough. Indeed, we must be willing to fight the good fight by spending time in prayer and meditation connecting to that power of God within us that brings us peace.

As a matter of fact, another spiritual warfare scripture that you can lean on when this world seems to be falling into darkness is…

“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-4

Again, and again, scripture after scripture, we are reminded that when it comes to spiritual warfare on this earth we are to remain strong in the Lord through prayer and meditation.

The Kingdom of God is Within You!

No doubt about it, the kingdom of God is within you. That’s why, in your time of need, when the forces of evil are seemingly knocking on your door. Do not be afraid, instead pray, meditate and fight the good fight of faith.

Feed your mind and soul the word of God. Day and night meditate on God’s word.

Pray, meditate and never forget that the kingdom of God is within you.

Truth be told, the more time you spend in prayer and meditation, the more empowered you become to know the truth and the truth will set you free.

Just in case you are wondering, those words are actually found in scripture…

And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. -John 8:32

No matter what, remember that when it comes to spiritual warfare knowing the Word of God is how you arm and protect yourself against the enemy.

Right now, I invite you to allow yourself to affirm and remember the following scriptures on spiritual warfare…

 Spiritual Warfare Scriptures!

  • “Do not be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:21
  • “Do not fear them, for the Lord your God is the one fighting for you.” Deuteronomy 3:22
  • “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” -Joshua 1:9

If you are like me, you can feel the strength God inspiring you to learn how to pray and connect to the power of God that is within you.

Of course, when it comes to spiritual warfare prayers one of my favorites is based on the following scripture…

This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chronicles. 20:15

Spiritual Warfare Prayer!

And this particular affirmative prayer goes like this…

“Thank you God. The battle is not mine, but God’s. Thank you God.”

Over and over again, I silently affirm this simple prayer of faith in the Lord my God.

Amazingly, the more I affirm this truth in prayer, the more I begin to appreciate and realize the following spiritual warfare scripture…

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

In the end, spiritual warfare is real, but you need not be afraid. Instead be strong and courageous. Spend time in prayer and meditation, read and allow yourself to listen to the Word of God.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Keep the faith and trust that the battle belongs to God, and God has the final victory…
