In scripture, we are reminded to count it all joy whenever we fall into various trials and tribulations.
“My brethren count it all joy when you fall into various trials” -James 1:2
Of course, the next verse of scripture tells us that we are to count it all joy because the testing of our faith helps up develop an attitude of patience.
“knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.” – James 1:3
In other words, when you are facing a challenge or struggle in life. No matter what happens, keep the faith and keep on keeping on.
Because your blessing, your miracle is waiting for you.
But that’s just part of the story…
Count it All Joy!
The fact of the matter is, joy is your very nature.
You were created in the image and likeness of God to feel joy.
What’s more, you were born to enjoy work.
You were born to enjoy friends.
We all were born to enjoy and appreciate family.
However, even though you are here to experience joy, you can’t look for it outside of yourself.
You must be willing to look within.
That’s why it’s important to spend time in prayer and meditation, connecting to the power of God within you.
Because, lasting joy comes when you can connect to the Spirit of God within you.
On an even deeper level, far too many of us think that external things will bring us joy and make us happy.
Some of us believe that if we can find the perfect relationship, then we will be happy.
For some of us, we think joy comes through our work or how much money we make.
A few of us even seek fame or power in the hopes that maybe, just maybe we will find joy along the way.
Yet, the fact of the matter is…
Prayer brings out the joy in your life!
The more time you spend in prayer, the stronger your connection to God becomes. And at a certain point in the process your heart explodes with joy.
And that feeling of joy changes your experience of life.
More and more, you can wake up in the morning and sing praises to God.
You begin to understand that lasting joy comes from your connection with God and to know thyself.
In the end, when you spend time in prayer and meditation, connecting to that joyful Spirit and love of God. That’s when you will find yourself counting in all joy no matter what happens in your life.
