In my mind, the Jivana yoga system as taught by Yogi E at Yoga Pura was created to do one thing.

That one thing is to help you live a more extraordinarily empowered life. And as a result of this you tend to live a happier and more fulfilled life. Regardless of the circumstances or situations arising in your life.

Part of the reason for this is the “Jivana Trinity Technique”.

The first part of this technique is stillness. Learn how to Be Still with whatever arises and it becomes rather obvious what happens next.

But the overwhelming majority of people on the planet aren’t there yet.

So what do you do when you can’t Be Still?

Consider the second part of this technique which is stretching.

See if you can stretch your capacity to be with the sensations that are arising from this situation or circumstance that you can’t Be Still with. Appreciate the burn, knowing that you are stretching your capacity to Be Still in the process.

As you can imagine, there is going to be a point where you can’t appreciate the burn or for that matter even be conscious of it.

What do you do then?

That’s where the third part of the “Jivana Trinity Technique” of allowing fits in. Simply stated, you allow whatever is happening to happen, just as it is.

Easier said than done, right?

Yet, the truth is when you can experience and explore the Jivana Trinity technique on the yoga mat. You open yourself up to the opportunity of experiencing something truly amazing.

For instance, on Tuesday, May 29th, 2012 I was taking Yogi E’s Classic Level 1-2 yoga class. And in this particular class we were experimenting with the practice of Allowing.

We begin with a posture that has us lying down on our back and stretching our leg to the side. Since the class is pretty full and there are yoga mats within inches of me, I’m not allowing myself to be fully engaged with the pose.

Instead, I’m fully engaged with the “mind chatter” and worry about what the person next to me is thinking about my big ol foot being in their personal space.

While this happening Yogi E invites me to shift from thinking and doing into feeling and being by having me move and adjust my leg. And he has me move it in just the way I was consciously and unconsciously choosing to avoid.

Interestingly enough however, it turns out that it caused an opening and release to happen with some surprising energetic results.

As we moved back into Child’s Pose. I was free. Open and allowing of it all. More importantly, I was connected to my breath.
And when movement and breath connect within me its like Two Lovers Meeting on the Yoga Mat.

Only this time as I was breathing in it felt as if I was inhaling the whole room. With each breath out it felt as if I was exhaling the whole world back into this reality.

Over and over this continued to happen, until finally...

It became time to rest in Shavasana. And as I rested in the oneness of this place. I felt the sensations of warmth and love spreading throughout my entire body. And that warmth was met with a gentle vibration that pulsated more and more with each breath.

It was there I continued to rest knowing that I am Love; I Am That I Am.\

Big Love Always,

Thaddeus
