“I resolve to stay on the softer side of Yin Yoga!”

That’s what I found myself silently repeating, over and over again at the beginning of class.

It was a Wednesday night, May 30th, 2012 to be exact. And I was taking Jen Brooks’ Yin Yoga class at Yoga Pura.

Based on my experiences and observations in Yin Yoga classes. I had become aware of the fact that I was practicing on the harder side of Yin Yoga more often than not.

That’s why I was readily intent on resolving to find and stay on the softer side of this practice.

Class begins...

Jen invites us into the first posture of the night and...
Let me tell you something...

“It is much easier to find the Harder side of Yin!”

What I mean by this...

It’s no secret that a lot of people enjoy practicing the more physically demanding and more active types of yoga. And one of the reasons for this is because its a really great way to escape from the realities of your everyday life.

Let’s face it. If you put on some really good music that has a rhythm and a beat to it, people are going to want to move. And if you believe that moving in a certain way and holding various poses for a few seconds. Will ultimately lead to you getting what you want.

Then it would seem rather obvious that this would be the be the best way to do it.

But that’s just part of the story when it comes to the practice of yoga.

In fact, on Wednesday, May 30th, 2012 Jen Brooks brought this into our ...

Let us begin by reading these opening words of Verse 29 of the Tao Te Ching as translated by Stephen Mitchell...

Do you want to improve the world?
I dont think it can be done.

And as you continue to allow these words to reside within you. You’ll be glad to know that on Tuesday, May 29th, 2012. Nyla Moore read us the entire 29th verse of the Tao Te Ching during the beginning of her Essential Basics yoga class at Yoga Pura.

Of course, if you’ve been following along then you already know that she read this verse on Sunday as well. The only difference being who it was translated by.

In any case, this particular translation resonates with me in regards to my yoga practice. The reason being is...

I want to improve my world and ......

In my mind, the Jivana yoga system as taught by Yogi E at Yoga Pura was created to do one thing.

That one thing is to help you live a more extraordinarily empowered life. And as a result of this you tend to live a happier and more fulfilled life. Regardless of the circumstances or situations arising in your life.

Part of the reason for this is the “Jivana Trinity Technique”.

The first part of this technique is stillness. Learn how to Be Still with whatever arises and it becomes rather obvious what happens next.

But the overwhelming majority of people on the planet aren’t there yet.

So what do you do when you can’t Be Still?

Consider the second part of this technique which is stretching.

See if you can stretch ...

For the last few weeks, Caroline Cucchiara has been covering the Law of Karma and how it works in regards to your yoga practice.

That’s why on Tuesday, May 29th, 2012 when I was taking her All Levels yoga class at Yoga Pura. I was relatively surprised when she told us the following...

“You can’t change or manipulate your karma in order to get what you want.”

While the bigger part of me understands this. The smaller part of me wishes that I had the power to manipulate and control the universe and the world around me in order to get what I want.

And I want you to understand, just understand that we all have the power to influence the karmic seeds that are being created in each and every moment.

Yet, what Caroline ...
